Gillen Announces $750K for Key Transportation Projects in Berks County

HARRISBURG – Rep. Mark Gillen (R-Berks) is pleased to announce that state grant funding totaling $750,000 has been awarded to support key transportation and infrastructure projects in the 128th District.
“This funding is an investment in the long-term success of our region’s infrastructure and economic development,” Gillen said. “Strengthening our transportation network will encourage job creation and support local businesses that rely on these improvements.”
• PDC Northeast LPIV, LLC will receive $500,000 for transportation improvements to aid in the development of the Southern Berks Industrial Park in New Morgan Borough.
• ReFined Plastics, LLC has been awarded $250,000 to complete Phase 2 of renovations to the Titus Station Rail Line in Cumru Township.
The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the commonwealth.
Funds may be used for the development, rehabilitation and enhancement of transportation assets to existing communities, streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancement, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets and transit-oriented development.
